Finding Our
Vantage Point

Each week at HF Stevens Middle School, I get to watch something special happen. Boys are showing up with energy and curiosity. They’re getting to know each other, learning to trust one another, and discovering both their individual strengths and the impact they can make together in their school and community.

That is the heart of Vantage Point.

We launched this pilot because we know boys thrive when they feel supported, challenged, and surrounded by people who believe in them. My goal is not only to teach skills but to help every young man see the possibilities ahead and feel confident stepping toward them.

Here’s what’s making a difference:

A peer group that grows together

They are learning that leadership does not mean being the loudest. It means showing respect, supporting your peers, and stepping up when it counts.

Project-based learning with purpose

The boys like to move, build, and try things out. When their ideas become real and helpful, they realize they have something valuable to offer.

Positive male role models

I show up for them each week and we are inviting more volunteer mentors to join us. Boys deserve men who listen and encourage them while helping them grow.

Support during the school day

Because Vantage Point is part of the school day, every boy can participate. And when boys feel connected and confident in school, their academic performance responds too. You see it in the way they focus, speak up, and handle challenges.

As I get to know the boys in this pilot, I see leaders emerging. I see problem-solvers discovering what they can do. I see young men who are starting to stand a little taller and look ahead with more purpose.

We are building more than a program. We are building a place where boys feel valued, encouraged, and excited about who they are becoming.

This is only the beginning. The boys at HF Stevens are already showing us what is possible.

Meet Elijah

Elijah Mobley brings both heart and experience to Vantage Point. Originally from Michigan, he graduated from Kalamazoo College with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He loves hands-on learning, solving problems, and helping boys discover strengths they did not know they had.

When he is not on campus, he enjoys exploring Fort Worth and finding the best local coffee spots.
